Tribe Challenge – Community Garden
Become involved in your local community garden or help start one.
Community gardens are a great way to plug in with your local community members and neighbors, be physically active, obtain healthy foods and have a positive impact on the environment. If you have a local community garden, become involved. If not, consider starting one with neighbors or local community.
An alternative activity your tribe could take on this week is the EWG ‘s Dirty Dozen Guide to Food Additives Hunt. Refer to Tips for Cleaner Nutrition for this list. Divide the additives list up among your tribe and head to your local supermarket. Find a food that contains each of the additives. As a tribe, you need to cover all of the additives. This will help you become more aware of the types of food containing each additive.
Step #1: Plan it together! Decide how you will become involved in a community garden.
Step #2: Share it! Tell someone outside of your tribe what your tribe will be up to this week.
Step #3: Complete it! Get in the dirt and produce some food.
Step #4: Post it! Be an agent of change and post the results of your work on your personal social media accounts with #Zero2HealthyHuman to be entered into our weekly giveaway. The more you post with #Zero2HealthyHuman, the more you inspire others and the more chances you have at winning. So be sure to let your friends know all that you are accomplishing through Zero to Healthy Human.
